This is my AI journey. I’ve been in IT since I was 19 and was looking for my next challenge when ChatGPT exploded and the GenAI race began. I knew about the attempts in the past to build AI and how they had not succeeded. I was interested to see how well ChatGPT responded to chat input and at first I was pretty amazed. I took a few prompt engineering courses and my results improved. I was really surprised by the quality and diversity based on the prompt and the context. I asked ChatGPT to write recipes, find the top YouTubers based on a topic, map out which aisles to travel down when shopping for ingredients. The list of things I was asking AI to do was pretty limited. This was only 3 months after ChatGPT was released. I’ve learned a lot since then. I’m using different AI models for specific tasks. I am running AI models at home on my own PC so I can learn without the abstractions of AI as a service. I am using my almost 30 years of experience in IT to guide me through this AI journey towards my next challenge.
I plan on documenting my AI journey on this site. I will tag what is AI generated so everyone knows when I did not create something. I think this is transparent but also will show just what I can make AI achieve. I will post my prompts, my code, my tools, and my ideas and reasons. I want to grow and learn from others. I hope I’ll help someone else learn as well.
Thank you,
Logan Bingham
